Informations
The first unit of the Castrum chain was the Keszthely Camping. It opened his doors as the first private camping ca 200 m from Lake Balaton as the crow flights, in 1982. The 25-meter stretched water surface swimming pool, children's playground, tennis courts help the meaningful spending of the free time. In the water blocks, which were renovated on modern European niveau there are shower cabins with doors and dressing cabins as well as wash cabins and automatic men’s lavatories, new CH-WC-pouring outs and separate water blocks for handicapped persons. The restaurant has one of the most popular kitchen of the region. In the vicinity of the campsite the sailing-lovers can give themselves up to their passion in the new yacht harbour. Keszthely is the oldest town near Lake Balaton, it is the capital city of Lake Balaton. The town has a rich cultural historical past and it makes the time spent here memorable with places of interest.

Keszthely is the oldest city at Lake Balaton and it is the capital of Lake Balaton. The most famous places of interest are Festetics castle (currently Helikon Castle-Museum), Balaton Museum, Georgikon Farm Museum, Doll Museum, Marzipan Museum, Radio and TV Museum.
In the vicinity is the Héviz thermal lake to be found, it is the largest natural, biologically active warm water lake in the world. The medicinal water and mud – coming from the Pannon sea, which was here more ten thousands years ago – together with the complex physiotherapeuthical treatments is suitable for the treatment of almost all rheumatic, gynaecological and locomotor diseases.
